High Couture and high-end hair fashion always go hand in hand. This thrilling collection by Laurent Decreton takes it a step further, drawing inspiration from one of the great masters of scissors and fabric, Yves St. Laurent. Decreton tailored the hairstyles to fit the vision of the famous couturier, creatively incorporating some of his hair accessories in an exciting way.

The collection showcases a progression of hair lengths and features four distinct hairstyles on one model, who was daring enough to go from luscious long locks to a sassy short cut. Each style expresses a different side of her personality, making this collection a wonderful example of how a great cut can transform your overall look.

Romantic Waves

Long, classic hair with a distinct wave pattern, slightly loosened by hand to give it a modern feel. The waves are thick and well-defined, and this is one look where you’ll want to avoid using a hairbrush.

Only a wide-toothed comb and your fingers should be used for styling. To enhance the hair’s flow, fine highlights were added to her dark blonde base color. The hair is parted just a finger’s width off-center for a sophisticated and luxurious look.

Sleek Elegance with Accessories

If these were real feathers, they wouldn’t capture the excellence of Yves St. Laurent. In fact, they are very thin strips of leather with skillfully cut fur, arranged to match the natural fall of the hair, just a breath lighter than the hair color.

To create a contrast in texture, the long hair itself was styled very smooth and straight, likely with the aid of a smoothing serum to avoid fly-aways or frizz. The hair is combed close to the head, cascading over one shoulder.

Long Asymmetrical Hairstyle

These “feathers” are crafted from her own hair, with the amazing texture achieved by layering, angle-cutting along the lines of her face, and finely slicing the ends. This type of haircut is not only modern with a timeless flair but also very feminine with its soft approach and flowing length.

The golden blonde hair color, brought to life with natural-looking highlights, contrasts wonderfully with the darker roots. The balance of nature and art is evident in every strand.

Short and Soft

This short layered haircut is designed to enchant. Soft in all its refined elements, it dazzles with a textured effect achieved through the piquetage technique, which involves cutting steep angles into the strands to blend the layers smoothly for a satiny outcome.

Once again, her dark blonde hair was visually lifted with lighter color effects. The diagonal styling adds dynamic movement to her hair while also softening her features.
