The Fierce Child by Davines

 
Tim Hartley and Kiyoshi Inoue are the two stylists behind this remarkable collection of hairstyles. Known as ‘The Fierce Child,’ this collection elevates hairstyles to a new level of artistry.
 
The inspiration for this collection came from the artwork of Nicholas Taylor and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Additionally, the New York band ‘Gray’ served as further inspiration for the project.
 
Hartley and Inoue utilized a series of photographs of portraits by Basquiat to infuse the styles with expressive intensity. Each hairstyle represents a delicate balance between a clear artistic vision and an abstract sense of minimalism
 
The cuts of these styles are geometrical and structured. They are very precise and difficult to achieve, as achieving the precise texture is crucial to pulling off the style. An interplay between the sharp cuts and the gentleness of the subjects gives these styles their depth and tension.
 
What truly sets these haircuts apart are the colors used. All of the styles are based on blondes obtained through a palette from Davines Mask series 11 and 12.
