Don’t worry too much about what you will do when you want to grow it out. You can just put your hair to the other side, and it’s like you don’t even have the side shave. You can also do fun hairstyles like low ponytails or braids to cover the shaved part.
In terms of hairstyles to embrace the shaved hair, it’s super fun to do a high ponytail with lots of volume in the hair, boxer braids, or just wear it loose!
You can also do just a bottom side shave, shave the two sides of your head, only the back, or all of it! Just do it! Don’t be afraid. It’s so much easier than you think. And don’t forget, it’s hair, it grows again!

What’s your best advice?
It is high maintenance if a woman decides to keep it as short as shown in the picture, but it also has low maintenance and soft growth to it when you use the appropriate products. These are a medium hold molding wax-like Amika’s Heist and a styling lotion like Amika’s Velveteen to keep your hair frizz-free and silky smooth. You should also consider a Denman brush.
Blow out the short side into place first, following the grain and keeping the airflow flat to the hair to avoid flyaways and closing the cuticle. The rest of the hair is up to you whether you’d like to wear it wavy or straight.

What’s your best advice?
Before cutting hair like this, follow the head shape right above the parietal ridge. This will help the hair lay better on that far part flip.
Changing the part in the opposite side or middle will completely cover the shaved side. Do this if you’re wanting to style a little more conservatively.
Thick full hair is fabulous forms look like this because it’s a lot easier to hide the side shave if desired.
Blowing the hair out with at least a medium hold mousse/ foam, will really help keep more control of the style. Try Kenra thickening mousse or Redken Guts.
Be prepared though for slow regrowth process!! It will be an entire year to get about 6 inches of growth.
