When opting for low-maintenance brunette color, this ombre will be your best option. This is a gorgeous dark to light chestnut ombre that suits your warm undertone. It offers a darker shade on roots to let your natural black hair grow out. If you have long and thick hair, this trend works so great, especially when you style it with classy waves.

How would you describe this look?

This is a sweet treat. A peanut butter brownie with caramel swirls. Sticking with warm shades compliment’s a natural color. It’s a beautiful chocolate honey color melt. If you plan on going for this look I would definitely recommend getting your haircut first.

Any advice for someone considering it?

I would say go for it. It is a very low maintenance look that goes great with long hair or short hair (think bob length). It’s a versatile look that compliment’s every face shape, hair type, lifestyle and it is customizable to your liking.

This chic chestnut and blonde balayage hair trend scream dimension! It even looks more dramatic when matched with voluminous waves. Don’t forget to dry your long locks completely first before curling to avoid any breakage.

How would you describe this look?

This is a perfect example of a dimensional warm balayage, where you can see all different colors and tones. The warmth of this look keeps the blonde bright and the root rich.

Curling the hair showcases all of the colors in there. More texture and/or wave in the hair always gives you the full effect of balayage. Notice the contrast between the depth of the root, and the brightness of the ends. It’s beautiful!

Any advice for someone considering it?

Not every person will be fit for this look. A balayage look works best with people who wear their hair wavy, curly or textured. It can be straight, but the waves really bring out the dimension and contrast. For someone with finer hair, I may recommend a different, more unique color suited just for her.

Dark Hair with Light Chestnut Highlights

Brown highlights suit any hair color and length. Hair as dark as this would certainly show-off a deep bronze accent.

Dark brown hair is extravagant as it is but when put together with almond highlights make the look all the more delectable.

Light Chestnut

Looking soft and natural! This ravishing shade of light chestnut offers a more lived-in, low-maintenance look. Who doesn’t want that? Work on very soft waves at the ends of your lengthy tresses for a subtle movement. This toasted hair color won’t appear as radiant as it is without using a shine spray.

@fredyhair

Do your long tresses need a new look? How about you freshen it up with a chestnut hair color? You can get inspiration from the browns of the woodsy chestnut tree! Jazz up this shade of a darker chestnut with blonde highlights, and pull off this stunning look. If not, pair the chestnut brown color with caramel highlights to let you achieve this trend. When it comes to styling, waves will add a pop to your hair’s new color.

Ash Chestnut Brown

How would you describe this look?

This hue is inspired by one of the top ten colors that stand out in New York Fashion Week, Spring Summer Collections – toffee. However, I’ve made some slight adjustments by increasing the ash component, making it closer to a chestnut brown shade so as to eliminate the brassiness that’s prominent in my client’s hair. To give it more depth and gradient, I’ve also balayaged the hair with Goldwell Silk Lift Lightener prior to toning. This creates an illusion of a fuller hair too.

My favorite thing about this hair color is that it’s neither too cool or warm. This means that it is an extremely safe and neutral hair color as it complements almost all skin type and shade. Moreover, maintenance is easy. Just use an ash shampoo (blue) and leave it on for 5-minutes daily.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This is a classic and timeless hair shade that will never go wrong regardless of your profession, personality or fashion style. The 2 types of skin tone that should avoid chestnut hair are almond and chestnut skin tone. Choosing a hair color that is extremely close to your skin tone and shade will make you look dull and tired. It will not complement your features in any way too.

Lastly, always remember to match your eyebrow colors with your new chestnut hair shade.

How would you describe this look?

This is a lived-in chestnut hair color. My favorite thing about Kendyll’s tone on tone hair is that it looks natural and effortless even though she spent hours in my chair! A lot of brunettes tend to fall flat and lack depth, but with some simple balayage and a glaze, they too can have beautiful multi-dimensional color. I gave her a simple round brush blow-dry to accentuate her layers and the style that I gave her.

Any advice for someone considering it?

Go for it! It is low maintenance and easy! With the occasional regrowth touch up and glaze, the balayage only needs to be maintained a few times a year. It is still a professional look without being boring!

As far as the haircut goes, the daily maintenance is really up to the client. A little surf spray and texture cream are ideal for a wash and go look – especially in the hot summer months when blow dryers are out of the question. For when you want to jooj it up or go for a more polished look, I’d reach for a volumizing mousse, blow dry cream, a round brush and go!

How would you describe this look?

What I like about this color is its subtle soft degradation but at the same time being highly technical.

After having used an L’Oreal Pro French balayage, I applied a Diarichesse toner in S24 that gives the style a hot/cool look. I then continued to style the hair with waves achieved using a Babyliss pro styling wand for a soft natural look.

Any advice for someone considering it?

My beauty tip to carry off this highlighted chestnut brown look is to start with hair that has a mid brown base.

This is a look for all women to be sophisticated or casual in their daily lives.

To maintain this look at home I recommend the brand Réflexion by Kerastase. Continuous care leads to a healthy head of hair!
