How would you describe this look?
Straight short hair is feminine, fun, and trendy. It also really complements my client’s face.
My favorite thing about it is its versatility. Depending on how my client feels, she can style it a number of ways. Her color also suits her complexion. It is darker brown through the short back area, while the top and front has warmer-toned foils.
Any advice for someone considering it?
I recommend this textured cut for a rectangular face shape and for someone who has a busy lifestyle and doesn’t want to spend too much time styling their hair. I have cut the back short and left the front and top area longer.
I blow-waved the longer lengths to create volume and finished off with Fanola Cream Wax to create definition and shine. It can also be styled with a straightener for a sleek look or in classic pin curls for an elegant night out.
I recommend visiting the salon every five to six weeks to maintain the shape.

How would you describe this look?
Short hair can still be feminine because we kept her feminine shape of the head. I chose to color her roots dark grey and her lengths a very light grey.
I love dimension in short hairstyles to give that extra glow and shape!
Any advice for someone considering it?
Use a salt spray on wet hair and blow dry with volume in it. Then I use a spray wax around the face and separate some hair to give that more “alive” style.
This style needs to be cut every six to eight weeks to keep the shape. If you have a round face, just leave some soft strands of hair around the face. If you have a rectangular head shape, we can cut more of a bang that can “fall” down.
If you need to wash your hair often (more than every three days), use a gentle shampoo or cream with a low ph to clean your hair. Finish with ice cold water to help the color last longer!

Hair that’s short and straight is universal, trendy, and edgy. I think this look demands respect and is very fierce.
Any advice for someone considering it?
Prominent features are needed to rock this look. Texture products are needed for a night out on the town (like Molding Clay by MoroccanOil) so you can funk up the front. For the more, fun laid back look, I like to use Anti.Gravity spray by Kevin Murphy and medium hold MoroccanOil hairspray.
Finish both looks off with Moroccan oil treatment for shine and protection. I think this look is great for on the go lifestyles because minimal styling is required, especially for fine to medium hair. Someone with more coarse textured hair may have to manipulate the hair with hot tools to get a more smooth look.
This hairstyle can be as detailed or as simple as you want, depending on the lifestyle of the client.

How would you describe this look?
This short haircut is based on Vidal Sassoon’s classic bob. Using the classic bob as the overall shape for this cut, we added layers while shaping the bob. This creates the softness and adds much more movement around the outline and surface than the classic bob. It gives the effect of a lighter weight with added volume.
What I like about this cut is the softness and the movement it creates on the hair. The “just enough” but not “too much” texturizing gives hair the bounce and lightweight effect. It also helps enhance the contrast of highlights on client’s hair.
Any advice for someone considering it?
I recommend this look for clients with more of a square or round face shape because it helps to slim and soften those shapes. Clients with fine or coarse hair can consider this type of look.
To style, I used Aveda Split Ends Repair on the ends for smoothing and repairing. I then sprayed Aveda Texture Tonic all over the top of the hair to help create body and volume with the hair dryer. After drying, I used a small amount of Aveda Texturizing Cream to create separation and texture for the finished look.
Overall, this is an easy everyday hairstyle that gives a natural, soft, and bouncy look.

My advice for any client considering this look is to not be afraid to go short. Pixie cuts last longer when the back and sides are tighter whether your hair is thick or thin. A short cut is a low maintenance in the sense that you can typically wash, blow dry, and go!
Spraying in a texturizing spray pre-blow dry and then using a pomade or paste post-blow dry will give the style texture and movement with very little effort. This type of style is great for a client with a heart or oval-shaped face.

This is a stacked A-line bob on short hair. My favorite thing about this type of cut is that it looks great on anyone and works with well with most hair types.
If cut properly, you shouldn’t have to do much for the style. It works well for people with thick or thin hair and gives every hair type great volume!
Any advice for someone considering it?
My advice is to know your own hair type. This client has a ton of fine-textured hair, so it lays in this cut really well. Not all hair types will be able to easily achieve this much volume, so you may have to work at it a little more than others.
Round brushing will be your best friend with this haircut, but you don’t have to round brush the whole thing. Get it 80% dry, then go in the right size round brush and do the back, bottom and top layers for smoothness, volume and hold.
A-lines look great on anyone, the length and what you are comfortable with are the only things that matter. If you aren’t comfortable with your face shape, go longer past your jawline. You can also go as subtle or as extreme as you want with the stack.
There are so many options with this stacked cut, so make sure you take the time to talk with your stylist about what you do and don’t like so they can adjust it accordingly. Take lots of pics of what you do and don’t like about these cuts and enjoy!

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?
I would describe this look as a short, fun, trendy, easy to do, versatile cut with lots of texture.
What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?
As far as products go, lately I have been in love with the IGK brand. I started off shampooing with their 1995 2-in-1 shampoo and texturize, then I added a small amount of their blow out balm called Car Service, followed by the blow dry.
On the sides and back I blew directional with the hair, but on the top I blew the hair in the opposite direction to create some volume, all with my hands. Once all dry, I sprayed the IGK Beach Club Texture Spray and the Dirty Spray, manipulating the hair with my hands until I achieved the desired style.
What type of client would you recommend this look for?
I think this haircut and style is great for the on the go woman who loves to have fun and be trendy. Truthfully, I’ve never been a head shape person. It’s more about the haircut and style fitting your personality and your lifestyle. Of course when it comes to head shapes, there is always things we as stylist can tweak to hide or accentuate different shapes. However, if you want a haircut or style, you should have it!

I would best describe this as a short textured bob. My favorite part about this cut is all of the texture and dimension.

My guest has extremely straight hair, so to achieve this look I used Oribe Imperial Blowout before blowing her dry.
