How would you describe this look?

I would describe this look like a tight fade with a textured top. My favorite thing about this style is the actual fade. There is something so drool-worthy about seamlessly blending nothing into something. It is creation in its truest form. There’s a cleanness, a purity, and a lack of facade. You can’t fake a good fade. It is what it is.

Any advice for someone considering it?

As far as advice, this cut works for most. However, I’d be careful of head shape. Since it’s so short, it reveals everything. If you have a scar or a bump, etc. that you don’t normally like to show – this isn’t your cut. I’d pay attention to how the jawline flows into the area by the ear and the temple – is it thinning? Does it curve in? Once you start bringing the hair in, it will overemphasize the topsides and give a triangular shape to the head. Also, I’d be sure that there is a consistent hair density so that fading doesn’t look splotchy. This day in age, facial hair should be taken into consideration as well. Do you have a thick beard or short stubble? How do you want to blend that into the shortness of the sides?

Product-wise, I’d start off with light to medium gel, blow it dry by almost buffing the top hair in circles. Then when it’s dry, apply a matte clay or paste. Work the product through your fingers and apply from the base of the hair out, so it doesn’t get top-heavy. Move it around until it is laying the way you want. And that’s it!

This haircut would require a touch up every 3-4 weeks to maintain, depending on how quickly your hair grows.

How would you describe this look?

This look is a men’s faded look with textured layers on the top section. One thing that I really like about it is the contrast between the skin fade on the sides and the length on the top. You have a fade, but at the same time, blended lengths, and on the other hand, it’s aggressive and unique.

Any advice for someone considering it?

It’s a haircut that suits clients who have a square face and fine to medium type of hair. If your lifestyle is about nice outfits and you like fashion and follow the styles in, this is the right look for you.

You can create this look if you use products that will give you volume. My suggestion is a sea salt spray when hair is wet, then you blow dry it quite messy, and then you can use a wax with matte texture for a nice definition.

How would you describe this look?

This looks like an edgy and modern nod to the mohawk. It’s masculine with a softness that I find interesting, and I love the androgynous feel to the overall look.

Any advice for someone considering it?

Think about how committed you are to styling daily, as it has a dramatic effect on the personal relationship to the style. Also, consider your wardrobe, lifestyle, career, etc.

As for styling products, I would use a moisturizing cream like Oribe Supershine to hydrate the curls, as well as a curl mousse like the Surfcomber by Oribe, to really create a definition and hold, giving the mohawk its structure. This is where you can really have fun by playing around with using a liberal amount of product and a diffuser to build a substantial curl structure.

How would you describe this look?

This is a medium to high faded mohawk/faux hawk with a small design in the nape area. My favorite thing about this haircut is that it is simple and easy to maintain. I use the same steps as with a skin fade but shape it as a mohawk.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This haircut can be low maintenance, depending on the texture and look you are going for. It can be worn with or without a product. I personally like the dry, natural look and use a small dab of matte pomade to give texture and a light hold.

How would you describe this look?

My favorite thing about this look is the amount of texture at the top. For this style, I used a sea salt spray with an easy hold cream first and then blow-dried to add some hold. I then put some texture powder in to bring out the textured style.

Any advice for someone considering it?

Use a blow drier if the hair is having trouble taking shape. Then use a clay/matte cream to get the shape you desire and finish it off with a textured powder to give it that textured look.

This look is good for multiple lifestyles, and it could be professional and relaxed. The best face shape would be oval. And the personality isn’t a big deal – you could be a funny or serious person, and it would still work.

How would you describe this look?

It’s a medium skin fade with texturized fohawk – one of the best options when a client like him ask for a high fashion haircut.

Any advice for someone considering it?

When someone like him asks about a style that requires the use of a flatiron or hairdryer, I always recommend using a good shampoo and conditioner and also a thermal protector.
